For over 37 years, B R Shearing Limited (BRS) has been a trusted name in the shearing business, serving clients in Geraldine and beyond with dedication and expertise. Founded by Bruce, who relocated from Timaru to Geraldine two decades ago, BRS has built strong relationships with clients who have been with them since the beginning.

Located in Geraldine, BRS benefits from a central location that allows them to efficiently provide shearing services to various parts of the South Island. Bruce's foresight in establishing shearer's quarters and an administrative office has proven invaluable, ensuring smooth operations and effective client management.

At BRS, we pride ourselves on our experienced and skilled team of shearers and shed hands, expertly sourced and organized by Pip Te Hopu. With over 11 years of dedication to the team, Pip's leadership ensures seamless coordination of staff, client scheduling, and travel arrangements.

Throughout the year, BRS provides employment opportunities for many shearers and shed hands, with over 50 individuals employed during peak seasons. Our commitment to a safe and supportive workplace is evident in our regular health and safety meetings, where staff are encouraged to actively contribute.

Our quarters in Geraldine offer essential accommodation for around 30 staff members, including those from other parts of New Zealand and overseas. This facility also caters to other local businesses requiring accommodation for seasonal staff, further contributing to the community's needs.

With a modern fleet of vans for transportation, BRS ensures efficient travel for staff members to and from various work locations. We prioritize client satisfaction, delivering a quality service from sheep shearing to handling the client's clip with care and expertise.
